Editorial & ranking policy
How we rank & vet septic companies.
We keep this simple and honest. Here’s exactly how listings are ordered, what our badges mean, and where the information comes from.
How listings are ordered
- Placement tier first. Premium partners, then featured companies, then standard listings. Tiers above standard are paid.
- Then a review-weighted score. Within a tier, companies are ranked by a score that combines their Google star rating with how many reviews they have — so a well-reviewed company outranks a 5.0 with a single review.
- Then coverage. Companies that serve the specific city you’re viewing appear on that city’s pages.
Listing tiers
- Standard
- A free listing. Ordered below featured and premium companies, by rating and review volume.
- Featured
- A paid placement. Appears above standard listings on matching city and service pages, with a “Featured” badge.
- Premium partner
- A paid placement at the top of matching pages, with a “Premium partner” badge. Our own company holds this tier.
Paid-placement disclosure: Featured and Premium partner placements are paid. Standard listings are free and are never moved up in exchange for payment — they’re ordered only by rating and review volume. Because we operate this directory, our own company appears as a Premium partner; we think the honest thing is to say so plainly.
What “Verified” means
A “Verified” badge means we’ve confirmed the company against its Google Business listing and public information. It is not a guarantee of licensing, insurance, or work quality — always confirm current licensing and insurance directly with the company before hiring.
Where our information comes from
- Public Google Business listings (name, phone, rating, review count, hours, location).
- Each company’s own website, which we read to record the services they actually offer.
- Public regulatory context (Montgomery County OSSF rules, TCEQ, SJRA) for the local information on our pages.
Ratings and review counts reflect the data available when the directory was last compiled and can change over time.
Corrections, claims & removal
If a listing is inaccurate, if you own a business and want to claim or update it, or if you’d like your company removed, email hello@conroesepticpumping.com and we’ll take care of it. Businesses can also get listed or featured.
