Septic service areas across Montgomery County

We cover Conroe and the communities within about 30 miles — across Montgomery County and into the edges of Harris, Walker, and Liberty counties. That spans master-planned areas like The Woodlands, rural acreage around Magnolia and Willis, the Lake Conroe waterfront, and the fast-growing east-county corridor along I-69.

Pick a city to see the septic companies that serve it, the services available there, and the local details that matter — soil, flooding, and which authority permits septic systems in that area.

How septic differs across the area

Septic isn’t the same everywhere here. The Woodlands is almost entirely on central sewer, while Magnolia, Pinehurst, and the east county are heavily septic on slow-draining clay soils that often call for aerobic spray systems. Homes within 2,075 feet of Lake Conroe answer to the San Jacinto River Authority rather than the county, and low-lying areas along the San Jacinto River can see drain field trouble after heavy rain.

Because the county lines matter for permitting, so does location: most of the area falls under Montgomery County Environmental Health Services, but Huntsville is in Walker County, Cleveland in Liberty County, and parts of Spring and Tomball in Harris County. Each city page covers these local factors. To go deeper, see our guides on Montgomery County permits and aerobic vs. conventional systems.
